GIMP 2.8: A preview of the new features!

A specific release date for GIMP 2.8 is still unknown, however, following developers work and discussion, it seems that GIMP 2.8 will be released some when in 2011, maybe in Q1 or Q2. A release candidate is still planned for December 2010. GIMP 2.8 will have kick-ass features such as a long awaited single window mode, full on-canvas text editing capabilities and layer groups!
